Biographical notes - Marie-Kym Brisson
Marie-Kym Brisson founded ComMuniKations B. in October 2006. She is a political science graduate from Université de Montréal with a certificate in communications management. Her strength: besides her broad network of contacts in the business, scientific and government communities, her ability to identify and create opportunities makes her a standout.
Previously, Marie-Kym Brisson held the position of Director, Communications and Public Affairs at Génome Québec. She was responsible for all communications with the public, governments, university spheres, business and scientific communities. In this position, she dealt with major issues and thus, developed and implemented complex communication strategies. She was also responsible for the development of public education programs, relations with the media, Web site, publications and special projects.
Before coming to Génome Québec, Marie-Kym Brisson spent three years as Director, Communications and Public Affairs at the Chambre de la Sécurité financière, which is the professional organization of 30,000 Quebec agents and brokers of financial products and services. She played a key role in the battle for the organization’s survival.
For seven years, Marie-Kym Brisson was Communications Manager at the Association canadienne des compagnies d’assurances de personnes (ACCAP). During this period, she significantly contributed to the strategy for setting up the Quebec drug insurance plan, as well as the reform of the financial products and services sector.
Active in numerous political campaigns, she is currently Vice-President of the Board of Directors of La Maison du Parc, a shelter for people afflicted with HIV-AIDS. Marie-Kym Brisson was Vice-President, Communications, at the Montreal Marketing Association.
