Biographical notes - France Thériault, Lawyer
France Thériault is a lawyer and member of the Barreau du Québec since 1992. She is Université Laval law graduate from 1989, and founded Caucus Affaires publiques in 1997. Her strength: networking and her professional reputation. Her client list is made up of private businesses and community organisms.
For the past 15 years, France Thériault has held different positions closely tied to the political milieu and the machinery of government. There she acquired tremendous experience as a political advisor to members of parliament in addition to holding positions as both press and political attachés. She was also a government relations consultant for national businesses.
Over the years, these various positions have deepened her understanding on how the political sphere works, on the reality of parliament and the machinery of government. Moreover, she knows how to identify decision makers and key people in a case and has a far-reaching and sound network of contacts. Her experience and the good relationships she has established in political and government spheres enable her to judge wisely the dynamics surrounding the adoption of government policy, and thus carry out the mandates she is given efficiently and skillfully.
France Thériault is a member of the Board of Directors of the Maison du Parc, a shelter for people afflicted with HIV-AIDS. She was a member of the Comité sur l’exercice illégal du Barreau de Québec for 10 years. In 1999, the Minister of Public Safety appointed her to sit as a public representative with the Autorité disciplinaire des policiers de la Sûreté du Québec. She was also appointed by the Council of Ministers to act as a board member for the Fondation de la faune du Québec. Lastly, she was a member of the board of directors for the Ordre des pharmaciens du Québec.
